Alberta Child Care Subsidy is a financial aid the Government of Alberta provides families with an annual income threshold of under $90,000 and a child in certain licensed child care facilities. If you’re eligible, continue reading to see how much you should expect to receive.
There are five factors at play to calculate the amount. These are also key factors in the amount your licensed care provider will ask you to pay.
Alberta has an official online estimator tool, which gives you an estimate based solely on your income and on how many children you are enrolling in child care. Here it is!
Since August 2021, the subsidy program includes families with an income threshold of $90,000 a year. (This number was previously $75,000.)
Now, assuming your infant or preschooler attends the program for more than 100 hours, and your school-age child attends the program for more than 50 hours, here are the maximum subsidy rates you could receive.
